patrick

Miss Amy is very professional and fun. Patrick, my two year old, Papillon, just LOVED Miss Amy to visit him. She taught him a lot and also explained a lot to us. I now have a much better understanding of what's going on in his cute little head! Having a little 'grandpuppy', like Patrick is a real pleasure. Having a better-behaved 'grandpuppy', is even better! I will continue to recommend Amy Ferguson for excellent dog training.

daisy

I wanted to let you know how happy we are with the at-home training sessions you provided! Your advice and simple techniques have made raising our shelter-acquired Daisy a joyful, enriching experience.

One evening last week, there was a rainbow over Waxhaw - the whole family (Daisy included) ran outside and down the street to catch a better view. To be able to experience moments like this without having to worry about finding and handling a leash is just priceless.

Even in new environments, Daisy will sit, come, and "leave it!" with a finger snap, "Daisy" and consistent voice/hand command - just like you said she would!  What's more amazing to us is that she listens, not only to our young children, but to other children as well. To hear Charlie telling his friends "Amy trained Daisy to sit - here is how you do it..." and then have him show off our dog's abilities is something that never gets old!

Your tips on submission positions, bite strength, pack play, and rewarding positive behavior over aggressive correction have transformed our nervous hesitation of mixing our beloved 5th family member with small children into a fun, positive, and memorable outings! We can't begin to thank you enough!!

brady
Thank you for all your help in training Brady, our English Springer.

As you know my wife and I have some experience in obedience training and have worked with other dog trainers in the past.  Our current dog, Brady an English Springer was both a challenge and a delight.  He was very easy to train and was well behaved in an enclosed area.  But when he went for walks or out in public places he would at times become difficult to control.  He would not respond to the leash/collar or verbal commands.  And of course it was just unacceptable that he would not behave in public like he did around the house.

When we contacted you and reviewed the situation you concluded that Brady might benefit from a sport collar to reinforce and maintain control.  The use of the electronic sport collar was the perfect choice for our dog.  With the remote Brady is now always obedient to our commands and is never more then a button push away from either "leave it, come or any other command."  This is a great tool and I would highly recommend to anyone looking to have off leash control for their dog.

Thank you for your assistance.  You were great to work with and I would recommend you to anyone looking to improve their dogs behavior.

cocoa
After just a few sessions with Amy, my 4 month old toy poodle, Cocoa, was responding to the commands of sit, down, and leave it.  Cocoa loved these sessions, and so did my children, who joined us in the training sessions.  Amy also helped us with a bigger issue:  while Cocoa was fitting in nicely with the adults in our family, she was showing major irritation with our kids and their constant attempts to pick her up and play with her.   In a very skillful manner, Amy worked with my children to understand how to better treat Cocoa and give her space and respect.  At the same time, she showed me how to react to Cocoa when she got upset with the kids.  Having Amy's advice really helped us integrate our puppy into the family so we could all move forward in a much healthier, happier manner!

baily

TR and I are thrilled with everything. After you left we went to the store to get some softer doggy treats and came back and KC was in the neighbors fence. hahaha So we did what you said, we reinforced what she does well which was sit but didn't get mad at her, which was hard for TR haha.  I also practiced the front door and KC of course did a great job. I was able to open the door the whole way and her not even flinch. I didn't want to push it by stepping outside just yet. Baily was a little more ants in the pants haha. But she did very well and did not get up.

You are an amazing trainer! Kelly and I were just going back and forth this morning bragging on you, haha. Thanks again so much!

bentley

"I have a 150 pound Great Dane named Bentley. I enrolled in unleashed dog training when Bentley was about six months old for the obvious reason that a dog that size needs manners. This was the most positive experience and I recommend it whether you own a 5lb dog or a 150lb dog. Amy gets you in tune with your dog so you can understand what the dog is thinking and why it behaves that way negative or positive. Bentley learned sign language in Amy's training and I have recently added an addition to our household and the new puppy picks up on it as well. Bentley is a huge part of my family and the credit goes to Amy because he has the best manners and the greatest disposition. Amy not only trains the dog, the owner needs training as well. This is where Amy is different from other K9 schools. The corrections need to come from the owner not the teacher!"

Amy helped my husband and I to completely transform the behavior of our dogs, Mandy and Ella, without losing any of their sweet and adorable personalities. They are still the same dogs, just much better behaved. Both Mandy and Ella were once homeless pups (Mandy was a rescue and Ella was found on the side of the road by a friend), so a lot of their behavior modification had to do with getting to the heart of what was really going on with them but knowing exactly what all had happened in their pasts and Amy was so patient and insightful and flexible while working with them. My dream was to be able to take walks and go hiking with both dogs at the same time and now we are able to take runs many times a week all together and attend different festivals and activities with other dogs around and the girls' great behavior is a dream come true! Guests to our home constantly comment on how well they behave now and nothing makes me prouder than when I am out in public with my puppy girls and someone tells me how good my dogs are. I didn't think it was possible to love them more than I did, but somehow with their awesome, great behavior and manners, I do!
